
Originally from Kingsville, Texas, Joel graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University-Kingsville in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Minor in Biology. In 2017, he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He moved back to South Texas in 2020 where he joined South Texas Bone and Joint as a physical therapist. He has been serving as the Director of Physical Therapy since July 2024.
As a dedicated clinical instructor for Del Mar College’s physical therapist assistant program, he mentors and supervises students during their clinical rotations. He is passionate about instilling the values of empathy, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice in his students.
When he's not working, Dr. Obregon is passionate about spending time outdoors, often fishing along the Texas Gulf Coast. His love for nature extends to creating lasting memories with his wife and son during weekend getaways and other outdoor adventures. Whether he's tackling a new DIY project or enjoying quality time with his loved ones, he values the balance between his professional life and personal passions, making the most of his time with his family.
